UNA PELÍCULA: Babe, el cerdito valiente

Sólo con leer el título más de uno pensará que he perdido el juicio.

Babe, el cerdito valiente, basada en el cuento infantil del mismo título escrito por Dick King-Smith, fue dirigida por Chris Noonan en 1995.

Obtuvo 7 nominaciones a los Óscar (entre ellas, a la mejor película y a la mejor dirección) haciéndose, finalmente, con el Óscar a los mejores efectos especiales y consiguió un Globo de Oro a la mejor película, en la categoría de comedia.

Babe, based on the fairy tale The Sheep-Pig, by Dick King-Smith, was directed by Chris Noonan in 1995.

It won 7 Oscar nominations (including for best film and best direction) by becoming, finally, with the Oscar for best special effects and won a Golden Globe for the best film in the comedy category.

El cerdito Babe es el premio de una rifa de pueblo que se lleva Arthur Hogget (James Cromwell, soberbio en su papel de granjero de pocas palabras). A pesar de ser un cerdo, no se resigna a su destino (que todos sabemos cuál es...) y seguro de poder llegar a ser  un buen perro ovejero acaba convenciendo de ello a Hogget hasta un punto insospechado...

Si bien este argumento parece propiamente diseñado para el consumo infantil, la película es también apta para mayores.

Una historia divertida, tierna y entrañable que nos hace reflexionar sobre la amistad, el deber y el afán de superación.

Si un cerdito puede llegar a ser un perro ovejero, qué podremos conseguir nosotros con un poco de tesón?

Babe the pig is the first prize of the raffle of a town that takes Arthur Hogget (James Cromwell, superb in his role as a quiet farmer). Despite being a pig, not resigned to his fate (we all know what...) and sure to become a good sheepdog, Babe manages to convince Hogget to an unsuspected point...

While this argument seems properly designed for consumption by children, the film is also suitable for adults.

A funny story, tender and affectionate that makes us think about friendship, duty and desire to excel.
