Qué tal si hoy me pongo una falda de cuadros roja?

Tiene unos lazos que se atan unos a otros y que hacen ese efecto tan original. Lo podemos ver un poco más de cerca:

Como quiero algo divertido, le pongo una camiseta con una serigrafía simpática y, teniendo en cuenta las temperaturas, le sumo una blazer negra con las mangas remangadas hasta el codo; ésta es entallada porque aunque estén muy de moda, las tipo boyfriend a mí no me quedan bien.

I want something fun so I put a nice T-shirt on and, as it´s cold these days, I also wear a black blazer with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow; this one is the fitted kind: I know boyfriend ones are in fashion but they really don´t suit me.

En el cuello, un pañuelo como bufanda; me encantan las mezclas así que mejor si el estampado es de leopardo.

In the neck, a scarf; I love the mix so let´s try with leopard print.

Para terminar, unas medias negras y unos botines con pequeñas tachuelas.

EN EL NOHO: Bonnie

Ayer, como todos los sábados del invierno, las 6 del cafecito tomamos café en el Noho (C/ Las Mercedes 31. Las Arenas-Getxo. Bizkaia).
Yesterday, as every Saturday in winter, the 6 of coffee went for a coffee in the Noho pub (Las Mercedes 31. Las Arenas-Getxo. Bizkaia).

Y allí estaba nuestra barwoman favorita: Bonnie.
And there we found our favourite barwoman: Bonnie.

Bonnie nos atiende todos los sábados y aunque la volvemos medio loca con los cafés (en vaso, corto de café, largo de café, en taza, descafeinado...) siempre está sonriente y nos trata con muchísimo cariño.
Bonnie serves us every Saturday and even we drive her crazy with the coffees (in glass, short of coffee, long of coffee, in a cup, decaf...) she is always cheerful and very kind to us.

Este post es en homenaje a ella que nos alegra las tardes de los sábados con su simpatía.
This post is a tribute to her because she cheers our Saturday afternoos up with her friendliness.

Y eso, es cada vez más difícil de encontrar en las personas que están detrás de la barra de un bar o cafetería (que hay cada avinagrad@ por ahí suelt@...)
It´s difficult to find people like Bonnie in those who are behind the bar of a pub or coffee shop (there are a lot who become bitter...)

Así que, Bonnie, las 6 del cafecito: TE QUEREMOS!!!

UNA HISTORIA: A Christmas carol; Cuento de Navidad

Una historia muy navideña: A Christmas Carol ó Cuento de Navidad (como fue traducido al castellano), es una novela corta escrita por Charles Dickens en 1843.

A Christmas story: A Christmas Carol is a short novel written by Charles Dickens in 1843.

Ebenezer Scrooge es una persona avara y huraña que no celebra la fiesta de Navidad a causa de su solitaria vida y su adicción al trabajo: los demás no le importan, sólo se preocupa por sí mismo.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a miser and unsociable person who does not celebrate Christmas because of his lonely life and work addiction: the other do not matter, only cares about himself.

En víspera de Navidad se le presentan los 3 Espíritus: de las Navidades Pasadas, de las Navidades Presentes y de las Navidades Futuras, enseñándole ciertos aspectos de su vida pasada, presente y futura.

On Christmas Eve 3 Spirits appear to him: the Spirit of the Past Christmas, the Spirit of the Present Christmas and the Spirit of the Future Christmas, teaching certain aspects of his past, present and future life.

Es tal el horror que experimenta al observar el futuro que le espera que promete cambiar si el futuro se invierte.

He is horrified by his future so he promises to change his bad temper if the future is reversed.

Al final, Mr. Scrooge despierta de su pesadilla y se convierte en un hombre generoso y amable.

In the end, Mr. Scooge awakens from his nightmare and becomes a generous and kind man.

Esta novela ha sido adaptada al cine en varias ocasiones, la última de ellas este año 2009, con Jim Carrey en el papel protagonista.

This novel has been adapted to film several times, most recently this year 2009 with Jim Carrey in the title role.

En la vida real yo siempre me pregunto dónde estarán los tres Espíritus de la Navidad porque hay cantidades ingentes de Señores y Señoras Scrooge...

In real life I always wonder where the three Spirits of Christmas are because there is a huge number of Mr. and Mrs. Scrooge around...

2010

Hoy es el primer día del año 2010.
Today is the first day of 2010.

A partir de hoy tengo por delante 365 días que están en blanco y que tengo que llenar de algo.
I have 365 ahead that are in blank and I have to fill with something.

Algunos de estos días serán alegres, otros serán tristes, me aburriré, me divertiré... seguramente, pasarán muchas cosas diferentes durante los 365 días de 2010.
Some of these days will be happy, some will be sad, some will be boring, in some others I will have fun... surely, many different things will happen during 2010.

Muchas veces doy por hecho que siempre tendré tiempo para hacer las cosas, arreglar una situación, estar con un familiar, tomar un café con una amiga, disfrutar de las pequeñas cosas cotidianas en las que normalmente no reparamos... Y, en realidad, no es así: el tiempo que estaré aquí no depende de mi voluntad y no sé si será mucho o poco.
Often I assume that I will have time to do so many things: fix a situation, spend some time with my family, have a coffee with a friend, enjoy the small things of the daily routine which we normally don´t notice... In fact, time does not depend on me and I don´t know how much time I will live.

Por eso, el único propósito que voy a hacer para este 2010 es éste:
That´s why the only good intention I´ll do for 2010 is this:

Cada día cuenta, así que no desperdiciaré ni uno solo.
Each day counts, so I won´t waste a single one.
